Welcome to the resources page for the Roasters Competition part of The DiGiTiTiON.

Glitter Cat’s DiGiTiTiON is 100% free and competitors will be supplied with all equipment, coffee, and supplies needed to successfully compete, including a pre-paid debit card for ingredients or materials. The DiGiTiTiON is for marginalized coffee professionals to find a safe, competitive, and quirky atmosphere and community through competition.

In the Roasters Competition, competitors will roast on provided equipment with provided coffees and create two profiles: one light roast and one dark roast. They will send their coffees to the judges, who will cup them anonymously. Competitors will also present their coffees in a five minute video and work with a designer to create a custom bag for their coffee. Competitors will be judged on taste evaluation of their coffees and creativity of their presentation and bag.

THE DiGiTiTiON’s number one goal is accessibility. We are committed to working directly with you to make any accommodation necessary for you to be able to apply for and ultimately compete in the DiGiTiTiON. Examples include: competing in a language other than spoken English or technology and or physical accommodations.

TIMELINE

  • Week of October 5 - Mandatory digital two hour Competitor & Judges meeting

  • October 15 - Finalists will receive equipment, supplies, swag, and materials to the provided shipping address.

  • October 16 to 25 - Develop presentations, drinks, and recipes

  • October 25 - Recipes and videos due to Glitter Cat

  • October 26 - Finalists mail coffee to the judges

  • November 2-7 - Get your popcorn popped! Competition videos released daily!

  • November 8th - Announcement of the winner!

This is a new, innovative, and exciting event for all of us and we ask for transparency, patience, and feedback as we go along this competition process with you! We might run into shipping delays or technology issues and that is almost guaranteed to happen. If such issues arise we will reach out to you as soon as possible and ask that you do the same for us.
